What is it?
The Department of Dreams is a social practice project. We believe that dreams are an act of self and community care. They contain possibilities for creative wellbeing and future-building. Most of all, we believe that dreaming is a human right: people and places thrive when dreams thrive.
What does it do?
The Department of Dreams creates spaces—both virtual and physical—for public dreaming. IRL, we host Dream Pop-Ups, which are community-focused dream gatherings. All Pop-Ups are designed to help people share their dreams in a communal setting. On this little corner of the internet, we’re developing the Dream Files and we’re sharing some of the things we’re thinking and learning along the way.
How can I get involved?
Dream with us. If you’re in Lynn, Massachusetts or the Greater Boston area stay tuned for information about upcoming Community Dream Pop-Ups. All you need to do is bring yourself, a friend, and some dreams. Alternatively, you can peruse the Dream Files, contribute a dream to the archive, or you can see what we’re dreaming about on Instagram.
